All-on-4 Dental Implants

All-on-4 dental implants, also known as full-mouth dental implants, are an effective way to restore missing teeth on both your upper and lower arches.

Full-Mouth Dental Implants

All-on-4 dental implants are an alternative to dentures or full-mouth dental implants. It requires only four implants per jaw, compared to traditional implants that require eight to ten implants per jaw. The all-on-4 technique reduces the need for bone grafting, and the implants act just like natural teeth, making this procedure quicker, easier, and more comfortable for patients.

Benefits

  • Reduced treatment and recovery time.
  • Lowers the need for bone graft surgery while ensuring greater stability in the existing bone. It can even be used for patients who have been told they do not qualify for implants due to bone loss.
  • More comfortable than traditional dentures because implants are more secure and feel like natural teeth.
  • Never worry about your false teeth slipping or falling out while you eat or engage in conversation.
  • No need for denture adhesive.

Fiancial Information
  • What are all-on-4 dental implants?

All-on-4 implants are a revolutionary dental implant system in which an entire top or bottom denture is supported on just four implants. Each implant is strategically placed so that the replacement teeth remain steady and secure. The advantage of using four implants is that it helps promote faster patient recovery and reduces the likelihood of complications from possible implant failure.

  • How to clean all-on-4 dental implants?

Just like natural teeth, daily cleaning of all the surfaces above and below the gum line and regular dental check-ups are key to preventing any disease.

A manual or electric toothbrush with soft bristles can be used to clean the implants.

  • Do dental implants hurt?

While implant patients experience some discomfort, it’s generally well-managed with over-the-counter pain relief, like ibuprofen and Tylenol. Soreness after the procedure usually subsides within a few days. If you have concerns about pain, we can always discuss additional ways to make you more comfortable.

  • Does insurance cover dental implants?

Insurance coverage for dental implants varies, but most plans cover at least a portion, if not all, of the procedure. It’s best to check with your insurance provider to understand what benefits are available. At Chester Road Family Dental, we can help review your insurance and provide guidance on what to expect regarding coverage. Want to check your coverage? Contact us.

  • What should I expect after the dental implant procedure?

After your dental implant procedure, it is important to follow a soft food diet for at least two weeks to avoid putting pressure on the implant site. Stick to foods like soups, mashed potatoes, and smoothies. Additionally, make sure to relax and rest for the next few days to a couple of weeks. Taking it easy will help with a smoother recovery and allow the implant to heal properly. We’ll provide you with detailed post-operative care instructions to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

You should continue to visit your dentist for a dental checkup every six months following your implant procedure. Regular visits will help ensure the implant remains healthy and functional for years to come.
